Brian Morris is a senior partner at Morris & Morris LLP and has been practicing law for over 40 years. He is a member of the Quebec Bar and Law Society of Upper Canada, and practices law in both Quebec and Ontario. Over the years Brian has attended tribunals, boards, and all levels of court in Canada, including: the Superior Courts in Quebec and Ontario, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Court of Appeal of Quebec, and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Brian is an experienced litigator and a veteran in court. Brian practices in all areas of litigation, and has a primary focus in the areas of: construction litigation/liens, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy and insolvency law. Brian is a pioneer in representing trade groups who join together to pursue owners and general contractors that are delinquent in paying trades. He has represented numerous such trades groups in situations where individual trades would not be successful in funding the necessary litigation, and has always obtained judgements or settlements to their satisfaction. When necessary, Brian has also acted as a court appointed trustee to build out and complete large subdivision projects.

Brian's legal practice also includes areas not involving litigation. He often attends before planning boards on issues of zoning, and has been instrumental in obtaining zoning amendments and classifications that his clients require for their residential or commercial building projects. Brian has been the lawyer for numerous residential and commercial real estate closings, and has been lead counsel numerous times in large land negotiations regarding the purchase and sale of commercial developments and buildings.

Simon Morris is a partner at Morris & Morris LLP. Over the years, Simon has attended tribunals and all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Simon obtained his law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to attending law school, Simon obtained a Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto where he graduated on the Dean's List.

Simon practices in the area of litigation, and has a primary focus in the areas of estate and construction law. Over the years, Simon has litigated numerous contentious estate matters involving beneficiaries, incapable individuals and estates, and is conscientious of the need to balance family concerns and wishes with those of obtaining results in court for his clients. In this vein he has been instrumental in diffusing extremely contentious family disputes over estates, and has provided families with the opportunity to obtain a more expeditious end to an otherwise prolonged and difficult legal battle. Also, over the years, Simon has litigated construction lien matters, breach of trust matters of both owners and contractors, trade group disputes, and power of sale/foreclosure disputes.

Simon's legal practice also includes areas not involving litigation. Simon practices in the areas of business/corporate law, estate planning, and both residential and commercial real estate law. Over the years, Simon has acted for business and corporations of all sizes in structuring and re-structuring their businesses. Simon also has valuable experience in structuring the estates of individuals through the drafting of wills, powers of attorneys, and trusts. Simon has guided clients through difficult financial decisions with regards to handling estate assets during litigation and subsequent to settlement and/or trial.

Amanda Deveaux is an associate at Morris & Morris LLP. Amanda received her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Windsor. She then attended Bond University in Queensland, Australia where she received her Juris Doctor in 2012.

Amanda practices in the area of litigation and has a primary focus on family law, estate litigation, and general civil litigation matters. Amanda's practice also includes residential and commercial real estate law and drafting wills and estates.

Prior to commencing articling Amanda worked as a fulltime judicial clerk in the Appeals Chamber of the United Nations at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, The Netherlands alongside the Honourable Justice Agius. Prior to joining Morris & Morris LLP, Amanda practiced at a general service firm in the areas of residential and commercial real estate law, land development, wills and estates, family law and civil litigation.

Amanda has experience before the Superior Court of Justice, The Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Ontario Provincial Court. In addition, Amanda has experience in all stages of the litigation process including mediation, settlement and pre-trial conferences.
